Rumor: MacBook touch Coming in October

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

macbook touch

Those clamoring for an Apple tablet may finally get what you’ve been waiting for. According to a MacDailyNews source who leaked wireless iTunes a week before its official announcement, we can expect a sort of “MacBook touch” in October. And the source wasn’t light on the details, either:

Think MacBook screen, possibly a bit smaller, in glass with iPhone-like, but fuller-featured Multi-Touch. Gesture library. Full Mac OS X. This is why they bought P.A. Semi. Possibly with Immersion’s haptic tech. Slot-loading SuperDrive. Accelerometer. GPS. Pretty expensive to produce initially, but sold at “low” price that will reduce margins. Apple wants to move these babies. And move they will. This is some sick ****. App Store-compatible, able to run Mac apps, too. By October at the latest.

In all honesty, we may have passed this story up, but we’ve heard vague reports from reliable sources that Quanta is busy building a touch product for Apple. This latest information seems seems to complement what we’ve heard. [MacDailyNews]

UPDATE: A post over at AppleInsider might have some more light to shed on the story. At the recent earnings talk, Apple promised a product transition by the end of September with “technologies and features that others can’t match” at a profit margin that no one else can approach (read: cheaper stuff). The plot thickens!

finally, a working music player!

Sunday, April 1st, 2007

i deem it as working because firstly, it’s not hosted on my site and it’s saving me tons of space (if you can remember it was because of the stupid music file that caused the excessive bandwidth on my site).

secondly, it’s a fantastic music sharing portal (crap, i didn’t even need to upload my song!)

thirdly, i don’t even need to design the player! i only linked the player/file to my blog!

i’ve got to know of this music portal thru Silver’s blog, and i have to admit some girls really know their stuff, damn techno savvy!

the website is imeem, you might want to check it out! :)

New 8gb Ipod Nano

Friday, July 21st, 2006

thinking of buying a Ipod Nano? wait!nano

In an effort to reduce the player’s susceptibility to scratches, Apple has been experimenting with aluminum anodized enclosures similar to those used in the company’s iPod mini digital music players, sources familiar with the company’s music plans have said.

In what Apple chief executive Steve Jobs called a major gamble, the company last September did away with its aluminum enclosed iPod mini, replacing the player with the ulta-thin polycarbonate-coated iPod nano.

However, the nano almost immediately faced intense scrutiny after a significant number of users began to complain that the front surface of their players easily became scratched or marred during ordinary use. Several lawsuits were later filed against Apple as a result of the scratches.

According to sources, the Cupertino, Calif.-based company is so far believed to have committed to the transition away from the nano’s polycarbonate-coated shell and towards aluminum enclosures. The new enclosures are expected to debut in color variations similar to those used with the iPod mini, these sources added.

Aside from the enclosure change, the new nanos are expected to sport relatively the same form factor as the existing iPod nano — about three inches tall and a fourth of an inch thin.

Sources also added that Apple is expected to scale the new player’s storage capacity up to 8GB when it makes its debut later this fall.

stop using zion!

Sunday, May 14th, 2006

in case you don’t know what is zion, it’s a mirc based client that allows you to play ‘dota’ with other players…

zion is being attacked at the moment. players will encounter a RPC popup box saying the computer is going to be shut down in 60 secs. after which when you reboot, you’ll get a missing/corrupted hal.dll error.

2 options remains at this point. pop in your winXP CD and choose the repair option, or do a new installation/format.

all credit goes to my genius brother whom were at the right place at the right time. i spent the whole afternoon reinstalling my programs.. what have i done to deserve this…

RK Launcher 0.4 Beta build 151

Sunday, April 16th, 2006

Click for a larger view.

just dumped my objectdock for RK Launcher.

i prefer RK because it looks neater but it’s still quite buggy. few things i didn’t like, the lack of animation when you click on the docks, it only has bounce effect and nothing else. and the animation is soooo rough, although i set the highest quality for the animation.

but i’m sticking with RK, at least for now.

Microsoft Xbox 360 S’pore release pushed back to March 16

Sunday, January 29th, 2006

Local gamers eager to get their hands on Microsoft’s new Xbox 360 video game console on March 2 will now have to wait a further two weeks.

The delay - until March 16 - is a result of a worldwide shortage caused by high demand and a dearth of components needed to manufacture the console.
